As a member of the advisory board (BoD) of the Viessmann Generations Group, Frauke von Polier is currently accompanying a historic change: the realignment from a monolithic industrial company to a diversified, resilient ecosystem. What is particularly exciting is how tradition, entrepreneurial family and new investments are forming a sustainable operating model – and how decisions, governance and culture need to be rethought in such an ecosystem – especially in the age of AI.

Her vision for this is the ‘ensembling’ of humans and AI.

Frauke von Polier – Milestones of a designer

Her career has been shaped by organisational change at the interface with technology:

  • Bertelsmann: Here, during the first dot-com wave, she learned that technology is the engine of change.
  • Otto Group: She accompanied the shift to e-commerce and built Germany’s first active sourcing team to search for the right talent.
  • Zalando: As Chief People Officer, she shaped the growth from 250 to 14,000 employees – from start-up to DAX-listed company.
  • SAP: As COO People, she deepened her expertise in global digital processes and people analytics.

Award: In 2023, Frauke von Polier was named ‘CHRO of the Year’ and has been named one of Germany’s ‘40 HR Leaders’ several times. This recognition honours her approach of consistently combining empathy with business acumen.

Senior Advisory “OrgxAI”

In addition to her board activities, Frauke von Polier advises CEOs and founders at the interface of organisation and artificial intelligence (OrgxAi) as a senior advisor.

The focus is on three levers: leadership in the age of AI, organisational development with AI colleagues, and building AI competence. She helps translate strategic ambitions into clear leadership principles, effective operating models, and concrete implementation routines – from governance and decision-making logic to role and interface design to collaboration between humans and AI systems. It enables teams to build AI fluency in order to make work not only more efficient, but also more intelligent.

The goal is to create an organisation that can act in a human-led, agent-powered way: faster in its orientation, more precise in its decisions and consistent in its impact.

Personal: Frauke von Polier has been living in Berlin with her husband and two sons, Maxi and Frederick, for 15 years. During the week, she is often on the road – in Munich, London or on the train between the two. She finds balance in sport – when given the choice, she prefers boot camp to yoga.
