Léa Steinacker
Dr. Léa Steinacker holds a doctorate in social sciences, is a bestselling author, a member of the Board of Directors and a multi-award-winning entrepreneur.
Her research focuses on the interface between technology, people, companies and the environment.
In 2024, she published the book ‘Alles überall auf einmal: Wie Künstliche Intelligenz unsere Welt verändert und was wir dabei gewinnen können’ together with Prof. Dr Miriam Meckel, which became a national bestseller immediately after its publication.
Léa Steinacker has been analysing the far-reaching effects of new technologies such as artificial intelligence for around ten years. She has published on numerous topics, including automatic facial recognition, synthetic voice generation, quantum computing and her self-developed concept of code capital. She has written extensively on the opportunities and risks of AI and researches how these technologies can best be developed, utilised and managed.

With her expertise in technologies and their far-reaching impact on individuals, companies and society, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the world’s leading natural food company Weleda and a member of the AI Advisory Board of Ringier AG, one of Switzerland’s leading media companies. She is also a lecturer at the University of St. Gallen, where she teaches courses such as ‘Social and Economic Impacts of Artificial Intelligence’.
In 2018, Dr Léa Steinacker co-founded and is now Executive Chairwoman of the employee transformation start-up ada Learning. Her company accelerates organisational change by empowering leaders to drive innovation from within. Since its inception, ada has worked with thousands of employees from DAX companies, SMEs, governments and civil society organisations.
Previously, Léa Steinacker was Chief Innovation Officer at WirtschaftsWoche, Germany’s leading business magazine, where she also reported on the future of work and socio-technological change. Before joining Handelsblatt Media Group, she worked with social justice NGOs in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
She has been selected as a Forbes 30 Under 30 Leader, one of Medium Magazine’s Top 30 Under 30 Journalists, a BCG Thought Leader and an Atlantic Bridge Young Leader. In 2011, she was awarded the Henry Richardson Labouisse Prize for independent research.
Léa Steinacker holds degrees from Princeton University (A.B.), Harvard Kennedy School of Government (MPP) and the University of St. Gallen (PhD).
