Michael Bröcker
Michael Bröcker is regarded as one of Germany’s most prominent political journalists.
Since January 2024 he has been serving as Editor-in-Chief of Table.Media, an information provider whose Professional Briefings are aimed at decision-makers in politics, business, academia and civil society. Together with Helene Bubrowski, he also co-hosts the daily podcast Table Today.
Michael Bröcker began his journalistic career after studying economics and political science at the University of Cologne – complemented by academic stays in the United States – with a traineeship at the Rheinische Post. He first worked as a business reporter, later moving to Berlin as correspondent for economic and financial policy, before taking over as head of the parliamentary editorial team in 2010. That same year, a fellowship with the Arthur F. Burns Programme took him to the Philadelphia Inquirer as a guest editor.
From 2014 to 2019, Michael Bröcker played a key role in shaping the development of the Rheinische Post as its Editor-in-Chief, where he championed cross-media approaches and digital formats in regional journalism. His work earned him several awards, including “Regional Editor-in-Chief of the Year” (2017) and the Lead Award in Bronze as “Newspaper Maker of the Year” (2018).
In 2019 Michael Bröcker joined Media Pioneer, where as Editor-in-Chief and co-shareholder he helped to shape the journalistic portfolio of Gabor Steingart. He also co-hosted the widely followed Morning Briefing Podcast and oversaw the insider newsletter Hauptstadt – Das Briefing. At the end of 2023, he stepped down as Editor-in-Chief but remained involved as a shareholder.

Beyond his editorial work, Bröcker is a regular commentator on talk shows such as Markus Lanz, Maischberger and the Phoenix Runde.
