Sister Lissi - Listen to the good angel
Nurse Lissi … and why some advice is valuable and should be heeded. A true story about change and transformation.
When Rainer was admitted to the clinic for the third time and was standing at the reception desk, nurse Lissi approached him and said, “What didn’t you understand during the last two stays? Now you are here for the third time and if you don’t manage to change your life this time, then we will never see each other again. Because then you’ll be dead.”
Rainer is an executive and sales manager in a wood processing company, driven by numbers and goals and the responsibility for sales and jobs. Already twice he had to take a forced break and became ill. But his sense of responsibility to the company, his colleagues and his family always forced him back to his desk.
Rainer knew he had to change his life. But also privately, the economic pressure was great: the mortgage for the cottage, the school fees for the children and the annual vacations, wanted to be financed. The fear of failure hovered over him like a sword of Damocles and he only functioned.
Nurse Lissi cared for Rainer during his first two stays at the clinic and in many conversations she pointed out what would happen if he did not change his life. Rainer already understood very well that he had to change something, but he simply did not manage to gather the courage to break free from the compulsions. He was caught in the claws of the bird of prey and his hamster wheel spun faster and faster.
During his third stay in the clinic, Nurse Lissi resolved not only to rebuild Rainer physically, but also not to release him until he showed her his new life plan and implemented the first steps on this path out of the clinic.
