Carina Stöttner: The Future of Work
Imagine what would happen if 42 million workers were taken out of their jobs in Europe today. That’s over five times the population of Switzerland and more than half the population of Germany today.
This thought experiment could become reality in the not too distant future: In the next 15 years, we will face a massive shortage of labor and skilled workers, and it is not least this shortage that will determine how the world of work will be shaped in the future.
In her speech, Carina Stöttner, the futures researcher and managing director of the Berlin-based think tank Themis Foresight, talks about the future of work. In doing so, she will address the three biggest challenges: a shortage of skilled workers, the climate crisis and automation.
In her presentation, she shows what will happen when the Boomer generation leaves the labor market and Generation Z takes the reins – the social scientist dispels common generational myths and prejudices. She talks about what the fifth industrial revolution can mean for production facilities and which technologies and innovations will transform entire industries in the future. Where will marketing and communications have to keep pace in the future and how can they prepare for it today?
