Benjamin Bargetzi
AI pioneer, neuroscientist, mountain runner and transformation expert – Benjamin Bargetzi is a border crosser of many worlds who has become internationally recognised as a pioneer of future technologies, innovation and artificial intelligence. An expert for visionary, big thinking but also for very concrete, detailed hands-on tips and tricks.
Despite his young age, Benjamin Bargetzi has been one of the leading figures in artificial intelligence, the trends of the future and their impact on our brains for more than ten years. He is one of the ‘Top 30 Speakers in Europe’. As early as 2014, the AI pioneer predicted the Apple Glasses – which finally arrived in 2023/24. He also talked about ChatGPT when no one could have imagined such a thing. He currently advises the World Economic Forum (WEF) Davos as Global Lead for Future Technologies and was previously responsible for digitalisation projects in senior positions at Google and Amazon for several years. ‘I am convinced that Benjamin will leave an intellectual legacy in this world.’ – Professor Karl J. Friston, one of the world’s most renowned neuroscientists
Benjamin Bargetzi is a man of contrasts. The neuroscientist and psychologist with five university degrees (including universities such as Oxford and University College London) comes from a Swiss mountain village. From there, his life has taken him all over the world: he spent many years in Japan, Singapore and China and also worked in the USA, but is now back in Europe as an innovative entrepreneur, AI implementer and speaker. As an internationally active tech investor, he successfully finances and advises global and local AI start-ups, but as a minimalist digital nomad, he himself lives a very reduced life: his belongings fit into two suitcases. In his highly digitalised professional life, his mind is constantly running at full speed, while in his private life he loves physical challenges such as Spartan obstacle courses, mountain races and extended trekking tours. However, he also consciously allows himself digital abstinence and consistently switches off his mobile phone, laptop and all technology from Friday evening to Monday morning in order to create a balance with his highly digital professional life.
‘Benjamin’s ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and enthusiastically was breathtaking.’ – Jelena Noe, CAPinside Investment Congress
The AI visionary speaks five languages, including Chinese. He is also a great translator from technical to understandable, as he is just as at home in the language of engineers and programmers as he is in that of entrepreneurs. When he gives talks on his complex topics, he inspires his audience by always hitting the exact tone of the target group he is speaking to, whether it is very technical or at a higher altitude, which is appropriate for the management level. In his talks and workshops, the internationally sought-after expert for digital transformation strategies impresses with his clearly presented expertise, which he brings to life with gripping stories from the tech industry and the international world of start-ups. As the founder of several companies, he can also report on his own entrepreneurship in the world of innovation.
‘Benjamin Bargetzi is a truly inspiring speaker and master of his trade.’ – Jan Bauer, TotalEnergies
To bring like-minded people together, Benjamin Bargetzi founded the ACIT Global Future Institute, a think tank for AI and neuroscience, back in 2014, long before the current hype.
In doing so, he is continuing his enthusiasm for neurobiology from his time as a student and researcher. He has always been fascinated by the interface between human and machine thinking. In doing so, he also deals with questions about how the human brain is biologically designed by nature to deal with rapid change, risk, uncertainty and fear. How we can overcome these blockages and transform ourselves as human beings in the long term has been one of his main areas of interest ever since. Benjamin Bargetzi has researched and studied the human brain at the world’s leading universities in Oxford, London, Singapore and Zurich together with international pioneers in this field. He is now applying this knowledge in his work with artificial brains.
Driven by the desire to help people in need, Benjamin Bargetzi has also founded various social initiatives to enable free education in the world, which today operate as recognised non-profit organisations. He is also involved as Board Director of Mensa International and as a mentor and alumnus of the Swiss Study Foundation, as a volunteer advisor for Enactus, the world’s largest student-run non-profit organisation for social entrepreneurship, and other charitable organisations.
