Monika Sattler
Monika Sattler is an entrepreneur, success mindset consultant, two-time cycling record holder, author and international speaker.
Monika Sattler had her career firmly under control: after completing her studies, she secured a well-paid job at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and later at the World Bank in Washington DC. She then worked as a top management consultant at IBM, first in Zurich and then in Melbourne, Australia.
Despite her professional success, Monika did not find fulfilment. Her big dream of becoming a professional sportswoman would not let her go. Finally, she decided to change her life completely – to stop dreaming about life and start living her own dreams. Monika Sattler epitomises this and shares her inspiring story, motivating and life-affirming. Her talk is fun, fascinating and brings the audience’s own dreams back to life.
As an executive coach for goal setting and two-time record holder in women’s cycling, she helps individuals and leaders set and successfully achieve big goals. In doing so, she emphasises the importance of a mentality she calls the “RAD Mindset”. Monika’s cycling records illustrate what it means to face big challenges and have the courage to pursue them. Her coaching sessions, workshops and keynotes are all about discovering your passions and finding realistic ways to realise them.

Monika Sattler dared to attempt a supposedly impossible 3000 km cycling record, despite the scepticism of 80% of the people around her. At a crucial moment, she overcame her own doubts and took on the challenge. Her talk uses the RAD method to explain how she overcame fear, persevered and successfully overcame a seemingly impossible cycling challenge. The audience will be able to apply her key principles to their own goals, whether in sport, work or life.
- Redefining success – What’s stopping you from taking the first step?
When striving for goals, the end goal seems distant. Getting there seems like a black box full of fear, the unknown and uncertainty. The bigger and more distant the goal, the bigger and darker the box. The usual reaction? Standing still for fear of failure. Monika Sattler explains how to overcome black box thinking and develop an enthusiastic attitude to pursue even big goals.

After realising that professional cycling was not her true passion, she went through a period of uncertainty. But she found a way by applying for a job as an IT management consultant at IBM. Monika Sattler and the cycling record
To show what it means to achieve seemingly impossible goals, Monika Sattler decided to become the first woman in history to break the cycling record: 3,000 km Tour of Spain, the same stages as the professionals, just a few hours ahead of them. Monika not only overcame the doubts of others, but also her own.
Her presentation sheds light on how she mastered the decisive moment: “Do I stay in my comfort zone or do I face my fears of failure and pursue something that seems to go beyond my limits?”
