Dr Simon Sagmeister is one of the leading experts on corporate culture. The founder and CEO of The Culture Institute in St. Gallen supports international companies and top management teams in designing and implementing effective culture and transformation programmes. His clients include global car manufacturers and suppliers, insurance companies and banks, logistics firms and other service providers, public administrations, a Champions League football club and the Swiss Army.

Simon Sagmeister gained recognition as the creator of the now widely used Culture Map model for shaping corporate culture, which he published in his bestseller ‘Business Culture Design’. The book was published internationally, including by Campus Verlag, the University of Chicago Press and PHEI China.
The topic of corporate culture has shaped his entire professional and academic career. His career path took him into organisational development at the hidden champion Julius Blum GmbH and into strategy consulting at Oliver Wyman. At the Management Zentrum St. Gallen, he worked with Prof. Malik on leadership topics before spending two years in Shanghai supporting Malik’s expansion in China.
Simon Sagmeister completed his PhD at the University of Innsbruck on the topic of ‘The Development of Cultural Competence’, graduating with the distinction of summa cum laude. He has also taught and conducted research at renowned international universities, including the European Business School in London, the University of Sydney, ESADE in Barcelona, Copenhagen Business School and Columbia University in New York.
